Jenks has been one of Oklahoma's fastest-growing cities over the last decade — the population grew from 16,924 in the 2010 census to 25,949 in 2020. Founded in 1904 along the Midland Valley Railroad and platted in 1905, Jenks carries the official nickname "Antique Capital of Oklahoma," and its Riverwalk Crossing along the Arkansas River and the Oklahoma Aquarium are two of the area's best-known destinations. Jenks Public Schools won the 2005 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, presented by President George W. Bush — a point of real pride for Jenks families.
